This wine, a tradition in Mouchão since 1901, is produced exclusively from grapes of the Alicante Bouschet variety and trodden by foot in traditional lagares. In the middle of fermentation, pure, young, top quality wine brandy is added to it, interrupting fermentation and allowing part of the sugar in the grapes to continue to be present naturally. Aging is done in old wooden barrels and piparões for at least six to seven years.
